Tumblr Expressions

i made a tumblr
strictly for any inspirations,
and personal expressions.

this blog is my baby,
but this other one
has a different feel to it.
and it's for the whole public to see!

Locs Locs Locs

here's a video about parents/jobs and dreads.
i found this video to be helpful,
even though i don't have dreads...
i can't even find someone to do yarn braids
and have money for them simultaneously,
let alone getting dreads.

good video for the war over parents.

Hay, Hay, Hay!

almost flipped my lid when i saw a 4th follower!

thanks so much to all of my followers,
for following me!

maybe someday i'll expose this blog to even the adults in my life...

but even if i don't,
i'll stay loyal to this blog.

i'm so sick of making decoy blogs!
there can't ever be any!

haha,
thanks again guys!

Side Note:

be sure for any newbies on my blog
(whenever/if i get them)

to look at the archives somewhere down the right.

if you go to october and december,
you'll see the more interesting art posts,
and less of my personal ramblings.

of course, they're sprawled out...
BUT, there's a good chunk I wrote up
to share with ya'll toward the beginning of my blog.

check it out!

Natural Hair: Research

so, i've joined a black hair forum.
so i can figure out what to do with my hair.

so far, i've found a blog worth looking at:

also, they helped me find a lot of videos for my hair type.
i think i'm a 3a-3c type.

umm, learned about ACV rinses,
i've had them done in the past, but not with diluting!

also learned that sulfates probably aren't good,
sealing my ends...

i'm taking notes! you should join a forum, too!
if you're feeling lost like me.

Ebay and a Roll-Up Measuring Tape is All You Need

since i'm so low on funds
i've decided that ebay and thrift stores will be where i shop
i've found quite a few things that i want just on ebay!

there's quite a few staple items i need,
and i found them on ebay.

i just need a measuring tape
and google, "how to measure in seam"
so i can make sure everything fits.

perfect!

feeling better already!

I Understand My Faulty Wardrobe!

i've realized what my wardrobe lacks...
(aside from many key staple items)

texture!

i noticed almost everything in my closet and drawers
are cotton.
cotton, cotton, cotton.

i think layering cotton on cotton looks so childish!
and i'm missing simple shirts and such, too.

where's my sheer pieces? my flow-y pieces?
my bulky pieces?

NO WHERE.

well, my closest has a problem,
and it has admitted it!
okay, bye now.

Oh My Gosh, I Love Teachers

so you see...
i was having a pretty crappy summer.
an even crappier day...

and a middle school orchestra teacher was able to change that:
she remembered our talks about LUSH, and she bought me some!
she didn't have to do that!
...but she did.
wow.

there's so many teachers that trust me and think the world of me.
i have to remember that when i have days
where i wonder about my existence.

i've had a junior english teacher
that wrote my recommendation letter with so many compliments,
it literally made me cry.

shoot, i have a middle school social studies teacher
that still texts me and wants to catch up over lunch
with me and a friend.

i can't ever forget how much potential
all of these past teachers see in me.

it's amazing.

Yay, it's Twixwell!

*breathes heavily*
thanks for following!

i'm glad you're a blogger, too!
blogging is definitely addictive, haha!

Eh...

i'm always wanting to start a new blog.
ALWAYS.
but i always come back to my baby:
this art blog.

sooo, i'll keep it.
it's all me.
it's everything i love.
i don't care who sees.

so what?
it's not entirely about art i find and share with you guys.
it's personal, nonetheless.
and i'm proud of it.

New Sims 3 Project

i think i'll start a sims 3 project.
where i blog and journal their progress
and make a storyline up for them.

i'm pretty excited about it.
oh! and remind me to post the start of a love affair story
i wrote at 7:03am while watching Coco Before Chanel.
i really like how it came out.
it was one of those epiphanies that stuck
and i had to get that story out of my system
because it was rustling in me for a good 5 minutes.

A. Pretzel

i wish i was involved in yoga classes.
wish i also some calamari from Cheesecake Factory
and a good book to curl up with.
i want to go out more,
so i can have things to take pictures of.

it's hard to be inspired by the same four walls
everyday.

6.27.2011

Balancing Act

i've bought some african black soap
(from Ghana- not the fake stuff),
made it into liquid soap, received my first body butter
(it's growing on me),
and received my 2G and 0G kits
AWESOME!

things are falling into place.
i'll see if i'm ready to add a wrap of tape
on my left lobe tomorrow, too.

I've lost track

in the best way possible.
i apologize for not having many art posts recently.
i did happen to make $20 this past saturday.
so if i'm able to make everything go right,
i should be buying a handful of things online.
i'm quite excited!

i've been playing with my ears for days now
and they're loose enough that the spin around by themselves.
also, i'm facebook friends with Sharon from MADE,
she's amazing and such a great person.
i aspire to be a better person.
i'm trying to look up,
i really am.
i need to find my self-worth.

6.16.2011

Beyond Eager

i haven't written anything in the longest time.
because i have nothing to talk about!
i'm beyond ready to get to a goal size.
shoot, a place where i'm comfortable with my stretches
would. be. awesome.
i'm ready to buy jewelry,
and film for youtube.
i'm ready to move forward.

Pokemon + Persona

aside from finishing my quest
to be a pokemon master
by playing Soul Silver,

i've also been writing quite a bit.
i'm almost done with my second entry.

all i have left to do is:
draw 2 pictures for both entries,
draw a picture for the blog's title,
and actually create the blog.

i'm kinda excited about it.
think of it as my persona.

1,000....

VIEWS!
haha, i only have 2 followers..
who i love VERY much for sticking it out with me
and this blog, haha!

but everyone
whether you viewed my blog cause you wanted to,
involuntarily,
or a tag came up while searching google images...
thanks, regardless!

Natural Remedies for a Sad Heart

over the past 5 months,
i've learned so much about natural remedies!
i'd like to share about the few things i've learned:

witch hazel:
cleanses the skin/astringent
it really does help remove dirt after you wash your face!
keeps your face clean and it's gentle

sea salt soaks:
i do it for my lobes,
it soothes them
and pulls any impurities from my (broken) skin
it really has worked wonders!
also VERRY tasty,
i invest in the sea salt and peppercorn grinders
due to my HUGE obsession with its taste difference

Holey Buttr:
used for ear stretches essentially,
makes lobes very supple after a good massage
helps elasticity (for me)
plumped my lobes up!
jojoba oil:
when massaged into lobes, can get rid of scabs/scarring
used it for skin and it helps get rid of scab w/continued use
organic plugs of sorts:
they're just fun for people with stretched lobes.
each pair essentially is unique,
so beautiful!

honey:
i LOVE drizzling honey on top of plain yogurt and granola!
it's a great substitution for sugar.
also a yummy treat is taking a spoonful of honey,
and stirring it in a warm cup of milk
(thanks Ponyo!)
at the state fair, there's honey ice cream- delicious!
i really want to invest in organic honey
(more nutrients)
cause sometimes honey can taste..processed.
had it in kindergarden, too:
honey and peanut butter sandwiches!

i'm pretty sure there's MANY more
natural medicines out there.
it's just that i haven't tried them yet!
i'm loving the results of the medicines
God put on this earth for us

and remember, patience is KEY!
(with both ear stretching and natural products)

see ya later alligators!

First Attempt at Taping 8G

took me AT LEAST 15 tries!
whoo, just getting used to the feel,
the length,
its thickness,
the crazy-delicateness of it!

but i FINALLY got roughly one layer around it,
lubed it SUPER well with jojoba,
and got it through without it bunching up on me.

two keywords when it comes to taping at smaller sizes:
TIGHT + LUBE
haha, kept having to redo it cause it would slide off.
but i got it.
once i get the hang of it, i might do a video.

just an update.
toodles!
