Nowhere

hey guys,
okay so i'm SO bored right now.
and there's too many people around to make videos..
sooo...
yeah.

NYLON navigated me to a website about people's travel stories i suppose?

i think it's interesting, you should check it out:

Jessica Yatrofsky + Naked Boys

i learned about her in NYLON's magazine.
her obsession with the male body was fascinating.
(because i find the female body extraordinary myself)

hearing that she's the type of girl
to wear vintage nightgowns as dresses draws me to her, also.
i love little quirks like that.
it makes us individuals!

anyway, she has a website you can check out.
featuring all of her photography.
her films are featured here as well,
she's working on her first featured film
called, "Sun in My Mouth."

NYLON + Andy Warhol

while on twitter,
i found out
via NYLON's tweet
that there was a DIY warhol screen test you can do.
it emulates warhol when he did screen tests
and it couldn't be any more simple:
create a video of yourself staring at a camera for 90 seconds
and download it to their group on flickr.

and it'll end up on the site for the museum of modern art!
voila!

it sounds bland and uninteresting,
until you read more about it.
allll told and instructions on this site
and NYLON shared from here

a little uncomfortable, i suppose
(but vulnerability was a goal for warhol
and these screen tests)

so give it a shot, i'll do mine someday.

here's a screen test of Edie,
warhol's muse.
"It" girls fascinate me as well.

the ones by NYLON's definition
when they have their own unique subdued beauty
that glows humbly.

*note: i believe his screen tests were made to be muted for more vulnerability...the song was added. mute it for a better affect

Cracked Nails Can Be Pretty, Too

thanks again, NYLON.
for hooking me up, once again
to a cool find!

see the top of that OPI polish?
that is the affect this lacquer will leave on your nails.
to me? it reminds me of cracked glass
or lightening!

does it not?
i've googled many cool ways to wear it, too.
won't be able to start experimenting until January,
unfortunately.
boo hoo

Breaking that Creative Photography Shell

thanks again to NYLON's blog,
i found another website,
this one more of a helping hand.
this blog will challenge you to
take photos.

and in no laborous way whatsoever.
such as last month's project,
to find 26 things on a scavenger hunt
and they gave you a list of words to describe
in your own words, er...photography.

their most recent project for us to do,
is to take 6-24 photos within a 24 hour period.
BUT
they're to be on New Years Eve or Day.

a big challenge for me, since i hardly do anything worth mentioning.
so i'll have to flex my creativity muscles on this one, haha!
here's the link, they seem VERY helpful, AND fun:

Thanks, NYLON (for the art)

thanks to NYLON's blog,
i found an artist that does portraits.
sounds so blah-zay, right?
well, guess what his medium is?
bubblegum.
check out his art and gallery here:
right, m-effin' here.

and here's a sample of one of his portraits:

yup, all gum....exactly.

Vampire Weekend

i have vampire weekend playing on my pandora,
because NYLON magazine told me so.
thanks to that magazine,
i've found so many new artist to listen to.
so, you could say i'm on a music adventure.
i do have a little over $9
burning a hole in my virtual itunes pocket.

now playing: vampire weekend- horchata

(it sounded tribal and had an excited beat,
i can always dig that)
